This time I decided to try my gunner tank build, 23313 autocannon w/ combat mobility OC (the only OC I have for it), bulldog 13212 w/ magic bullets, and a 123 shield generator for maximum hiding, with veteran depositor as a perk to stack defense. I finally did the EDD today after failing twice earlier this week.
I honestly do not understand how so many people think the crispr is bad (or bad outside of sticky fuel), even the base weapon with no OCs is insanely strong when spec-ed for a sticky flames playstyle. Non-sticky fuel sticky flames builds are surprisingly powerful, the damage is still plenty high enough to deal with grunt variants, and haz 5 doesn't stress your attention economy enough that you really need that super long duration.
So for normal haz 5s and stuff where the much shorter sticky duration is fine and you can get away with not being able to fire back-to-back TCFs it's just awesome. Like, on shorter length 1 egg or mining missions it's super easy to just go the entire mission without resupply, and that's even with a ton of TCF mining.
But it's a very similar playstyle while also being ridiculously, ridiculously ammo efficient. Is it as powerful as sticky fuel and energy rerouting? Not at all, and I wouldn't take it to any modded lobbies or anything like that. Lately I've been playing 23232 FSD + 21122 heat pipe.
